A 19th Century complete set of 8 black ink sticks, one side depicting daily life activites,  the other side showing 2 lines of calligraphy highlighted with gilding and 3 or 4 lines with incredibly very small but legible characters in high relief, all writing within a geometric design (key-fret or chiao-yeh). They are signed on one side ( same side) of the ink sticks and are fitted in their original box with red silk lining in the interior and silk brocade on the outside.

Each ink stick is 10.8 cm long x 3.3 cm wide, and 1.2 cm thick.

Each weigh 2 ounces.
